The one who gave Halicarnassos its name is the king of Karia, Mausolus (377-354 B.C.). The mausoleum which was built by his sister Princess Artemissia who happens to be his wife at the same time, would be pointed as the seven wonders of the world by historians after years. Exiled by the court to Bodrum, which was a fishing village at the moment, Cevat Şakir stayed in Bodrum for 25 years, and Turkey listened Bodrum and its stories from him. The fisherman of Halicarnassos now lies in his beloved Bodrum, on the hill behind gümbet, in Saldırşah district.
